Warriors Showcase Exceptional Bowling Skills

In a remarkable display of bowling, the Outer Delhi Warriors secured a convincing victory against Purani Dilli 6, winning by 82 runs in the sixth match of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) Season 2 at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday.

Warriors Dominate Despite Modest Total

After setting a target of 149 runs, the Warriors quickly took control of the match with their bowling attack. Young leg-spinner Suyash Sharma initiated a collapse in the powerplay, dismissing three key batsmen—Samarth Seth (18), captain Vansh Bedi (1), and Pranav Pant (6). Aarush Malhotra (5) also fell early, leaving Purani Dilli struggling at 31 for 4.

Middle Order Collapse Dooms Purani Dilli

The situation worsened for Purani Dilli when Dev Lakra (5) was run out due to a mix-up in the eighth over. Pacer Shaurya Malik then took two wickets in consecutive deliveries, dismissing Yug Gupta (1) and Ekansh Dobal (0), followed by Aayush Singh (4) leg-before, leaving the team in dire straits at 50 for 8.

Warriors' Early Momentum Dwindles

Earlier, Outer Delhi won the toss and opted to bat first. Openers Priyansh Arya (16) and Sanat Sangwan (26) provided a strong start, aggressively attacking the bowlers. However, both were dismissed by Rajneesh Dadar in the sixth over, leading to a collapse that saw the Warriors at 108 for 7 by the 15th over.

Udhav Mohan's Impressive Bowling Performance

Udhav Mohan emerged as a standout performer for Purani Dilli, taking 5 wickets for 26 runs in 4 overs, which significantly weakened Outer Delhi's batting lineup. Nevertheless, timely contributions from Siddhant Sharma (21) and Harsh Tyagi (17) helped the Warriors reach a total of 148 before being bowled out.

Suyash and Shaurya Lead the Charge

Despite Purani Dilli's initial control during the first innings, the exceptional bowling from Suyash and Shaurya turned the tide, making Outer Delhi's score of 149 more than enough for victory.
